Radio Nigeria Journalist And imam Are Been Arrest

 The Gombe state government under the leadership of Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has arrested a Radio Nigeria journalist and the Imam of the Friday Mosque after a political program they held.

 A journalist named Yakubu Halliru Jeka Dafari, who is an employee of the Federal Government owned radio station Jewel FM in Gombe was arrested on the charge of having a conversation with a politician who is also the imam of the Friday Mosque in Gombe.

 The Imam during the interview accused the state government of spending four billion nairas on the new building of the state government house.

 The Imam said this in a political program called Harshen ka Alqalinka which aired on Jewel FM radio station.

 Reports have revealed that the Imam who was a member of the APC party before later joined the NNPP party with luxury which some people see as a review and decision against him in the political sense.

 The Government has already sent officers to arrest them, in the current situation we are trying to hear from them, Comr.  Abdulmumini Abubakar, who is the President of the Gombe State Radio and Television Media Workers Union, but our efforts have not been successful.

 Abdulaziz Ibrahim Hassan, a young journalist in Gombe state, at the time, condemned the decision of the state government and expressed his displeasure regarding the issue where he describing it as inappropriate in a democratic government where everyone has the right to express himself and defend himself from accusations by providing convincing evidence.

 In the end, Abdulaziz Ibrahim Hassan also asked the Journalist Associations to stand up to protect the reputation of their work and media workers, especially at this time when elections are getting closer.
