Bola Tinubu continued that Islam teaches us to achieve these things in the right way, which includes giving advice, creating role models, good thinking and good leadership, and so on. The purpose of leadership in Islam is to guide and lead the community on good deeds and avoid bad ones. Trust, truth, and justice are Islamic virtues that are implemented in politics. These virtues are an honor that takes a leader or a politician or any servant to Paradise on the Day of Judgment.
In the Holy Qur'an, God Almighty said: "And We have appointed leaders for them in the back of the earth who will lead according to our orders; and we also inspired them to do good deeds, to maintain the prayer and good news and good results. They are our devoted servants". (Qur'an, 21:73).
Relying on this verse of the Qur'an, we will understand that leadership is an attribute of God, he is the one who chooses the leader and not another person or some committee. The role played by the leader in brief is to guide and establish the Islamic Empire.
He added that the Messenger of God S.A.W. implemented these virtues and became a role model. Another sign of further evidence of good leadership, as the leader of Madina, he opened a meeting room for suggestions from companions (Shura) where suggestions and ideas are collected and debated and everything that is appropriate is taken into action.
Tinubu said as long as we win the 2023 elections, we will ensure that we have the largest Islamic university in Africa in Northern Nigeria.
