A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has ordered the immediate arrest of the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, and his arraignment on charges of threatening life, incitement, and defamation.
Mahmoud Lamido, an activist in Kano state and he is the victim, went to court through his lawyer, Bashir Tudunwazirirchi, and demanded the immediate arrest of the leader of the APC, Abdullahi Abbas, for allegedly threatening him over the phone. by saying "then I lost your head".
Judge, S.A. Amobeda of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano gave this order and adjourned the hearing to February 16 to monitor whether the order will be followed.
Responding to the incident in a statement, the spokesperson of the opposition party NNPP, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa said this is the second time in a row that different judges have issued similar court orders, to compel the commissioner The police arrested and prosecuted Abbas on charges of violence, intimidation, and threats to life.
"We hope this will be a lesson to any politician who chooses the path of violence, instead of promoting peace in Kano and Nigeria," said Mr. Dawakin Tofa.
