There are enemies of Bola Tìnúbú in the Presidential Palace, according to Governor Malam Nasiru El-Rufa'i
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufa'i, alleged that there are enemies of the candidate
The National Chairman of the APC, Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Palace who are trying to bring him down.
He stated this during his conversation with Channels Television, in their Sunrise Daily program on Wednesday morning.
El-Rufa'i said the people, whose names he did not disclose, were angry since their candidate was defeated in the APC primaries.
He also said that the people are hiding from the need to see President Muhammadu Buhari do the right thing.
He said, "I am sure there are people in the Presidential Palace who want us to cancel the election, because their demand was not met, their candidate was defeated in the primary election."
"These people are trying to hide from the demand for Buhari to do the right thing. I will give two examples; This issue of fuel subsidy which makes Nigeria spend a lot of money is something that we all have agreed to remove for a long time.
"I had to talk to the President about this, where I showed him the reason why it must be removed. So how do you allocate 200 billion for major projects and spend two trillion on subsidies? We discussed this matter with him in 2021, and it was agreed that it will be removed because the money has risen so much.
"The second example is the change of Currency. The President should be understood. People blame the CBN Governor, but that is not the case. If we go back to history, even the era of Buhari's military rule, he changed money because of the treatment of thieves and those who stashed illegal money at home.
"It is a good policy, and the President has his reasons for doing it, but doing it in a short period of time and elections are approaching is not useful," said the Governor.
El-Rufai's comments come a week after Tinubu accused him of saboteurs in his party, who he said do not want him to win the election.
The candidate alleged that the fuel crisis and financial reform were deliberately created to sabotage him.
