We will not start working until we are paid allowances, said some INEC workers in Kano
Some temporary workers of the Electoral Commission in Nigeria have said that they will not start the process of voter identification until they are paid some of their allowances.
The employees of Dorayi Karama Constituency in Gwale Local Government of Kano State in the northwest of the country said that they are asking for the training allowance given to them by INEC.
BBC Hausa correspondent in Kano, Zahradden Lawan, said that now the voters there are crowded and waiting for the power of God.
Kano State has more than five million voters, which makes the state one of the most frequented places for candidates to seek votes.
