The election supervisor, Professor Kasimu Shehu, announced that the results of the election showed that Dauda Dare got 377,726 votes and defeated Matawalle who won with 311,976 votes.
The victory of Lawal of PDP has already erupted in parts of Zamfara state and Nigeria as a whole.
Of course, this success of Dauda Lawal did not come easily, he encountered many obstacles. Dauda, who is a former bank employee, faced many cases until a few weeks before the election, cases seeking to confirm him as a candidate for the governorship of Zamfara, but in the power of God he was successful in all cases. that he faced.
Earlier in September 20022, a federal court in Gusau annulled his candidacy on the grounds that the meeting held where he was elected as the candidate was not legitimate, a former member of the federal parliament named Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Gusau , he asked the court to cancel the election, according to him there was fraud in the elections. Maishari'a Aminu Bappa canceled the election on May 25, 2022 and asked for another primary election to be held.
Despite the fact that, Lawal won the primary election, but the court also suspended the implementation of his election.
Also, Maishari'a Bappa canceled the election again and decreed that the PDP party will not be able to present the candidate in Zamfara state in the 2023 general election.
But Lawal did not give up, where he and Adamu Maina-Waziri, the chairman of the committee that conducted the election of the governor Colonel Bala Mande (retired) appealed to the High Court of Appeal of Sakwatto where they asked the court to cancel the order.
In January 2023, the High Court under Maishari'a Abubakar Talba rejected the decision and re-approved Dr. Lawal as the candidate of the PDP party in the elections to be held.
More fences
Despite all these successes that Lawal has achieved, the case was appealed to the Supreme Court. On the 6th of March 2023, he won again at the Supreme Court where it ruled that Lawal is the legitimate candidate of the PDP and he will stand for it in the 2023 election.
Lawal also faced a trial by the EFCC, where the case reached the Supreme Court but in the power of God, Lawal was completely successful and the court acquitted him of all allegations.
From May 29, 2023, Dr. Lawal Dare will take over Zamfara State from Bello Matawale where he will continue to implement the promises he made to the nation, we hope the nation will give him all the support he has. need to take Zamfa State to Tudun-mun-tsira.
