5 people were burnt to death in a car accident in Bauchi
The Bauchi State Road Safety Authority has confirmed the death of five people who were burnt to death in a car accident on the Bauchi to Jos highway near Panshanu village.
The agency said that the accident happened early Wednesday morning after a Toyota car collided with a Peugeot that were both carrying passengers after the car lost control of one of the drivers.
Daily Trust NewspaperShe reported that the five men in the car all died after they were burnt to death because of the fire caused by the cars.
The bodies of the people were handed over to the Toro Police Department in Bauchi state.
Also in Kebbi state, 35 people lost their lives on Wednesday in two accidents that occurred between March 26-27, according to the state's road safety agency.
The Commander-in-Chief of the agency in the state, Yusuf Haruna Aliyu, said that 40 people were rescued from the accident. He said that the accident happened between three cars that were carrying 75 people in them.
He said the injured were rushed to the hospital in Jega and Kalgo.
