An 86-year-old man has set a barbell record
An 86-year-old too broke history in the world powerlifting competition.
Brian Winslow lifted 75 kilograms of steel in the British Weightlifting Championship held on March 18, 2023.
Brian Winslow from Derbyshire set a record after lifting a 77kg barbell for the first time.
Mr. Winslow now holds the history of the competition in the UK and the world in the weight class of 60 kilograms in men aged 85 to 89 years.
Mr. Winslow, who started lifting metal at a young age while working in a restaurant, said he was delighted with the history he had made.
"It's a good thing to make history. Lifting is a part of my life with my children and grandchildren. I will continue to lift until I can't anymore." said Winslow.
