It should be said that Nasiru Gawuna and Murtala Garo are in prison - Professor Hafiz Abubakar
The former Deputy Governor of Kano State Prof. Hafiz Abubakar stated that it should be said that the current Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and the former Local Government Commissioner, Murtala Sule Garo should be imprisoned instead of being seen in the city which has led to put them up for governor and deputy.
Professor Hafiz who represented the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo stated this at a special meeting in memory of the late Malam Aminu Kano organized by the Mambaya Democratic Development Center in Kano, in May 2022.
The former deputy governor said the community is witness to the way the faces of the two politicians were seen in the 2019 governorship election, they are trying to incite riots and attempt to steal ballot boxes in Nasarawa local government area.
He said that the world has witnessed this brutal work done by them but the surprising thing is that the APC finally gave them a ticket for the 2023 election.
Also, Professor Hafiz said that Nasiru Gawuna and Murtala Garo played an important role in bringing the 2019 Kano governorship election to the level of Inkwankulusib which is a setback for the development of democracy.
In the month of March 2019, police officers arrested Nasiru Gawuna, the deputy governor of Kano and the local government commissioner Murtala Sule Garo at that time on suspicion of attempting to rig the election.
