The Coalition of Tijjaniyya Sect Organizations has distanced itself from a statement by some who it says have taken refuge in the sect calling for the election of a candidate for Governor in Kano State.
The groups stated this in a press conference they held at the Kano Journalists' Center under the leadership of Sheik Tijjani Sheik Sani Auwal, National President of Majma'u Ahbabu Sheik Ibrahim Inyass and President of "TIGMEN".
He called on the followers of the sect to come out on Saturday and vote for the candidate of the NNPP, Abba Kabir Yusuf as the Governor of Kano State.
The president said that they made the decision considering his merits and suitability and the future of the people of the state.
Sheikh Tijjani, who is the grandson of Shehu Ibrahim Inyass and the spokesman of Shehu Mahi, the Caliph of Inyass in Nigeria emphasized that they should disassociate themselves from all those who hide in the name of the sect, announcing that a candidate should be chosen in their name.
