Meet Shania Twain's son, Eja Lange!
Shania Twain's only son with her ex-husband and producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Eja Lange, is without a doubt her favorite child. Not only was he her son, but when she was going through a painful divorce, he became her lifeline. Eja has grown so much since then. The 21-year-old is said to be following in his parent's footsteps. But unlike his mum Shania, he prefers to work behind the scenes.
Eja Lange was born on August 12, 2001, but Shania Twain didn't talk much about him as he grew up. The only time she talked about him was when she wished him a happy birthday on Instagram. But in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Twain said that Eja was interested in becoming a musician, but he didn't like being in the spotlight or on stage. He did, however, enjoy the creative process.
A few years later, Twain said that Eja had started making his own music and that he is very dedicated, passionate, and hard-working. She also said that it was fun to watch him work and that the mother and son both make music at the same time. Twain would be in her room, and he would be in his. They would often text each other to share work and get feedback.
But he didn't want to live in either of his parents' shadows, just like any musician who was born to two talented people. So, Eja has been listening to a lot of different kinds of music to find his own voice. Twain said that he loves electronic dance music (EDM) and that Hans Zimmer is one of his biggest influences.
Eja still likes writing songs more than performing them. Eja doesn't like being in the spotlight like his mum does, and he's not as outgoing as she is. His mum agrees that being an artist is a better fit for him.
