 The police have rescued 14 people who were kidnapped in Zamfara


 The Zamfara State Police has dismantled the camp of bandits and rescued 14 people who were kidnapped in Zamfara, who spent 68 days in their hands.


 This is contained in a statement issued by the public relations officer of the state police force, SP Muhammad Shehu in Gusau on Saturday.


 According to him, "On March 10, 2023, police officers and vigilantes, while working in a camp near Munhaye forest, managed to defeat some bandits in the camp of the team leader.  bandits known as Dogo Sule.".


 "14 people who were kidnapped were rescued, including two adults, seven women, and five children under two years old.


 "The victims informed the police that on January 1, 2023, around 11:00 p.m., several suspected robbers armed with heavy weapons attacked the villages of Angugar Mangoro and Gidan Maidawa in Gusau local government, and abducted the victims to their camp.  where they spent 68 days in detention.


 "The victims who are in a state of pity were taken to the police hospital in Gusau, to check their health, and from there they will meet their families," said Shehu.


 He said the state police commissioner, CP Kolo Yusuf, congratulated the victims for getting their freedom and assured the continued commitment of the force to protect the lives and property of citizens.
