The White House has warned Uganda that it will get back what it has put into its economy if it approves the law that puts gay people in jail.
John Kirby, a spokesman for the US Security Council, said, "We will look at the possibility of taking the right action if they make it a law, maybe from an economic point of view." If this resolution is made a law, "we will look at the possibility of taking the right action," he said.
"After that, we'll study. We won't do anything else until now. We are paying close attention to the situation. And we think that if the law doesn't get made, we won't do anything."
The resolution says that anyone caught being gay should go to prison for life. Some of them will also get the death sentence.
Before the resolution becomes law, the president has to sign it.
The European Union also said that it was worried about this law.
