Zelensky visited the cities of Kiev and Kherson
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, went to the Kherson region, which is in the south of the country and is partly controlled by Russia. This happened a day after he went to the east of the country.
Zelensky went to Posad-Pokrovsky, a town that was destroyed by Moscow and will stay under Moscow's control until 2022 when Russian forces will leave.
In the past, Ukraine has said that it will use the Russian army's heavy losses in the Bakhmut region to win a new battle, just like it did near Kiev, Kharkiv, and other cities.
The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Sersky, said in a message on Telegram that the Russian soldiers trying to take Bakhmut are losing and are tired.
The Russian army and the Wagner group fighters surrounded Bakhmut from the north, east, and south. This makes it harder for the Ukrainians to get supplies.
Experts aren't sure how important the city of Bakhmut is, but Kiev said that the war in the industrial city is good for beating the Russian army in the east of the country.
