Zimbabwe will give the country's workers a 100 percent salary increase
According to the government of Zimbabwe's media, the government will raise the wages of the nation's workers by 100% in an effort to improve their wellbeing.
The new wage structure, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Finance, includes an additional 250 dollars in crown allowances for all employees and an additional 80 dollars per month for school teachers.
According to the announcement, the salary raise will begin for employees in the security sector on March 1 and for all other employees of the nation on April 1.
The national school teachers' union stated the pay raise was "to be praised," but that the additional allowances provided by the Crown were insufficient.
A meeting over the nurses' krona allowance was scheduled for Wednesday, according to the nurses' group representatives.
Given that the country's doctors have been on strike for more than four months and that the strike has further harmed the country's health sector, the Zimbabwean government said in 2020 that it would not be able to raise salaries.
