Court Sends Summons To Rara Again Because Of Hard Debt
A high court of Islamic law in Kano has ordered that a new summons be issued to the singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu (Rarara) because he refused to attend its hearing.
The court, which is sitting in Rijiriya Zaki neighborhood in Kano city and is headed by Justice Halhalatul Khuza'i Zakariyya, gave the order during its session on Tuesday.
Rarara is being sued for refusing to pay for some cell phones that he receives and distributes to people from a businessman named Muhammad Ma'aji.
The amount of money is about ten million three hundred thousand Naira.
The plaintiff's lawyer Barista I. Imam told the court that the defendant did not respect the summons sent to him because he refused to attend the court session.
The lawyer asked the court to order the arrest of Rarara as he was in contempt of court.
However, he added that he did not know whether the summons given to the defendant reached him or not.
The court asked the officer who served the summons, Ismail Zuhudu, if he gave Rarara a handshake, where he said that he posted the document on the door of his house as the court ordered, as a result they asked him to give him a handshake hand but he did not find it.
The Judge, Halhalatul Khuza'i Zakariyya, said that since the defendant did not come and did not send, the court excused him because this was the first time he had done so.
He then ordered a new summons to be written for Rarara and delivered to him or posted at the door of his house on Zoo Road in Kano and the summons published on social media and media.
The court also set Thursday, April 13, 2023 to continue hearing the case.
