 Eminent female singers of Kannywood have formed a new association of purely female singers called 'Voice of Female Singers A Yau Progressive Association'.


 The group, which was founded in Kano, consists of former Kannywood stars including Murja Baba, Maryam A. Baba (Sangandale), Hadiza Maikano, Maryam Fantimoti, Fati Nijar, and others.


 One of the members of the group, Hajiya Maryam A. Baba (Sangandale), told Majiyar Focus News Hausa, Film magazine about the goals of the group, saying, "This group is new because we have not established it for a long time.  And we established it to raise public awareness and unite and help each other among us female singers.


 "And this organization, we will use it to raise awareness and alert people.  And he will ask for money in advertising companies and other products for sale.  Therefore, this organization is self-help and public assistance."


 Regarding the organization's leadership structure, Hajiya Maryam said: "Now we are trying to create the organization's structure and its establishment, so we have an interim leadership structure in which Murja Baba is acting as the president, and then  Fati Niger as Vice President.


 "We also hope that this group will contribute to the development of female Kannywood singers and men as well as the entire community."
