France has closed its embassy in Sudan
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has closed its embassy in Sudan.
In a statement, the ministry said that the embassy will not be a place for people who want to leave Khartoum.
The embassy said it will continue to operate from Paris, France under the supervision of its ambassador in Sudan.
In addition, the statement mentioned that France is "working towards achieving a ceasefire and restoring the transition negotiations in Sudan."
"France supports the efforts of the African Union, the East African countries, the Arab League, the European Union, and the United Nations to bring peace to the country," the statement said.
"France calls on all parties that are in conflict with each other, to allow the delivery of humanitarian goods, the evacuation of civilians and the restoration of political dialogue in the country," said the statement.
The international community has already started trying to evacuate their diplomats and citizens from the country of Sudan since the outbreak of the conflict in the country at the end of last week.
