Government Accuses Peter Obi, Baba-Ahmed of Treason

The Federal Government of Nigeria has accused one of the main candidates of the opposition party, Peter Obi, of treason, a few weeks after the candidate of the ruling party won the presidential election.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed the allegations during a press conference in Washington DC, USA on Tuesday.

Mohammed accused the Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of trying to stir up public interest in the results of the presidential election held on February 25.  It is a national trust.

"Obi and his deputy, Datti-Ahmed are not right to keep threatening Nigerians that if the president-elect, Bola Tinubu of the APC is sworn in on May 29, the end of democracy in Nigeria will be over.

"This is treason.  It is not possible for them to continue inviting violence, and that is what they are doing."  Lai Mohammed said
