I will stay away from Abuja when I step down - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will return to his hometown Daura in Katsina state, when he hands over power to the new administration on May 29.

In a statement released by the presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, he said Buhari said this yesterday when he hosted the outgoing British Ambassador to Nigeria, Catriona Wendy Laing.

Buhari praised the UK for supporting Nigeria in many ways, especially in the reconstruction of the northeast region where the activities of the insurgents were common.

He said that the UK was home to many Nigerians, and he said that the relationship between the two countries will continue to exist.

Earlier, the British Ambassador said that she was not happy to leave Nigeria, especially considering that she is familiar with many things in the country, such as the culture, dances, and songs of the natives.
