Kaduna Government Denies Reports of Kidnapping People on Abuja-Kaduna Road

The Kaduna State Government has said that the report of abduction of travelers on the Abuja to Kaduna road is not true.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Internal Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said that the state government expressed its displeasure with the news which it said was unfortunate.

The government said the story is fake, and it is working with the security forces to prosecute those who created the story to see how progress is being made in the state.

Aruwan confirmed that the reports they received from the security forces and Kagarko local government indicated that some bandits blocked the road from Gwaje village in Kagarko to Jere on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, where they kidnapped  two other people.

"From the available information, the incident did not happen as reported by the media.  The information circulating that travelers have been kidnapped is not true," said the Commissioner.

Aruwan said that the Kaduna State government is following up the security forces on anything that affects the safety and health of the citizens.
