The government has arranged a confrontation with Sheikh Idris regarding his comments against the Prophet

The Judiciary Commission of Bauchi State in northern Nigeria has arranged a confrontation between the scholars and Sheikh Idris Abdul'aziz Dutsen Tanshi over his comments about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A letter sent by the board to the teacher, a native of Bauchi state, said that the educational discussion will be held tomorrow, Saturday, April 8 in Bauchi city.

At the beginning of this week, the teacher's words started to raise a storm, especially on social media, after he claimed that "he does not need the help of the Prophet".

"You are invited to an academic discussion [weak] about your words that 'you! ... We don't even want the Messenger of God to help him, that's the end of it," as the agency stated in the letter.

The cleric was seen appearing in a video on Thursday saying he heard from a source that he will debate with representatives of some religious groups in the state, which include Izala and sects.

A similar debate was held in Kano in July 2021 when Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara was accused of making defamatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad.

After the debate, the authorities brought the teacher to court, which sentenced him to death.
