There are 8.5 million internet users in Kano

The National Bureau of Statistics says there will be 222.6 million mobile phone lines across Nigeria by the end of 2022.


Statistics show that 27.1 million cell phone lines have been added to the existing 195.5 million by the end of 2021.


The statistics agency released the figures in its data on telephone users in a report for the last three months of 2022.


The report also said that the total number of active internet users reached 154.9 million at the end of 2022, compared to 142 million at the end of 2021.


Regarding the number of cell phone users among states, the report shows that Lagos is the state with the most cell phone lines with 26.5 at the end of 2022, followed by Ogun state with 13 million.


Kano is the third state with 12.4 million cell phone lines.


The report shows that Bayelsa state has the least number of mobile phone lines with 1.6 million, followed by Ebonyi state with 1.9 million phone lines and Ekiti state with two million lines.


Similarly, he showed that Lagos state has the highest number of internet users with 18.7 million followed by Ogun state with 9.2 million and Kano state with 8.5 million.


Bayelsa has the least number of internet users with 1.1 million, just behind Ebonyi with 1.3 million and Ekiti with one and a half million.


The report shows that most mobile phone line owners in Nigeria will be working with MTN in 2022.
