Tottenham have sacked their caretaker manager after a 6-1 defeat at Newcastle

Tottenham sacked Cristian Stellini less than a month after taking over as interim manager.

Now, Ryan Mason - who previously took charge of the team following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in 2021 - has taken over the role of caretaker manager.

The move comes after the club suffered a crushing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle on Sunday, a result that chairman Daniel Levy said the club would not "accept".

The club appointed Stellini, 48, on March 26 after the club's contract with Antonio Conte came to an end.

The team's defeat at the hands of Newcastle is a significant setback for the team's efforts to enter the top four in the Premier League, a step that will allow them to qualify for the Champions League.
