 The Law on Prohibition of Marriage Expenditure has been established in Sokoto State

 The Sokoto State House of Assembly has signed a bill to monitor the cost and extravagance of weddings in the state.

 The bill which was presented by Alhaji Abubakar Shehu of the APC party and Faruk Balle of the PDP party, had to be first presented to the Committee on Religious Affairs in the parliament.

 Shehu, who is the chairman of the committee, presented their report in the first meeting of the members of parliament and all of them agreed to make it a law.

 The bill needs to monitor the extravagance of money during weddings, circumcision, and other ceremonies in the state.

 After a debate in the first session chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Alhaji Abubakar Magaji, the bill was approved by members of the House.
