The statement also said that these clouds are likely to move to the east of the country in the next 2–6 hours, bringing rain and strong winds to the cities of Plateau, Abuja, Nassarawa, Jigawa, Adamawa, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina.

NiMET also said that in places where storms are expected, there is a chance of rain that can blow down trees or electric trees and destroy houses if they are not closed.

Because of these things, the agency told people to stay inside, especially when it's raining, to avoid getting hit by lightning.
