Abba Gida-Gida led the demolition of a 3-storey building with 90 shops in Kano
Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano state, began tearing down some buildings on government land early Saturday morning. These buildings are on land that Ganduje's government is accused of stealing.
At about 2:00 a.m. Saturday, a three-story building with 90 shops was torn down at the Sukuwar Dawaki Racecourse in Nasarawa as part of the destruction.
Muhammed Gumel, who is in charge of state police, was with the governor when the building was torn down.
If you remember, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the newly elected governor of Kano State, made a threat right after he was sworn in. He said that he would tear down buildings in the state that were on government land that was supposed to belong to the people.
This is the first person to die since he took power on May 29.
Also on Friday, the governor told the building workers at Alhazai camp in Kano to stop what they were doing.
