Federal Scholarship Board – Nigerian Scholarship
The Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award for 2022–2023 is open to interested and qualified Nigerians and is being sponsored by the Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Mallam Adamu Adamu.
FSBN Scholarship Criteria
The following are the requirements for the Nigerian award:
1. Candidates for postgraduate study must hold a first degree with at least a Second Class Honours Division. The applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in a federal or state university.
2. All other applicants (undergraduate, higher-level diploma, and non-degree) must be enrolled full-time in their second or later year at a Federal or State University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, or College of Education.
3. All undergraduate scholarship applicants, including those who are physically challenged, must have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.0 on a scale of 1 to 5 or its equivalent, or 5.0 on a scale of 1 to 7.
4. On a scale of 4.0, all NCE and HND applicants must have a CGPA of at least 3.5.
Important Details
1. The scholarship is valid in Nigeria and begins at the start of the academic year.
2. Neither may it be used for part-time studies nor concurrently with another Award.
3. While receiving the prize, changing your course or institution is not permitted.

2023–2024 Federal Government Scholarship The Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. Students to Study Abroad are presently being offered by the Federal Scholarship Board by the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria for the academic years 2023–2024.
Deadline for applications: March 20, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
Eligible nations include Nigeria.
To be taken at: i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were received from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania; ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia).
Regarding Government Scholarships: The Honourable Minister of Education, therefore, invites qualified and interested Nigerians to the 2022/2023 Nomination Interview for BEA Scholarship Awards for the following:
2. Postgraduate level (Masters's Degree and Ph.D.) in all subjects. 1. Undergraduate level - Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, and Medicine (extremely limited).
Type: Both undergraduate and graduate studies are eligible for the awards.
A minimum of five (5) Distinctions (As and Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects pertinent to their fields of study, including English Language and Mathematics, are required of all applicants for undergraduate degree courses. For non-African countries, certificates should not be older than two (2) years (2021 & 2022), and they should only be one (1) year old (2020) for African nations. Age restrictions range from 17 to 20.
ALL APPLICANTS FOR POSTGRADUATE DEGREE COURSES MUST HAVE A FIRST DEGREE WITH A 1ST CLASS OR A MINIMUM OF A 2ND CLASS UPPER DIVISION. Previous recipients of foreign awards who are applying must have worked in Nigeria for at least two (2) years after receiving their awards. The N.Y.S.C. Programme must have been completed by all applicants, and the maximum age for Masters and Ph.D. programs is 35 and 40, respectively. Only N.Y.S.C. discharge or exemption certifications as well as employer-provided proof of readiness for release are acceptable.
