BURGER KING Foundation And Scholarship
The BURGER KING® Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was founded in October 2005. It serves as the system's charitable arm.
The communities where we work and live have benefited from the efforts of the Foundation, Burger King Corporation employees, franchisees, suppliers, and visitors. Currently, the BKTM Family Fund and the BURGER KINGTM Scholars program are managed by the Foundation.
The BURGER KINGTM Scholars program helps high school seniors in the US, PR, and Canada, as well as employees' spouses or domestic partners, children, and other family members to pursue higher education. More than 46,000 students have received scholarships totaling more than $53 million from the program to far. Scholarships totaling $4.3 million were given to almost 4,000 worthy students just last year.
For James W. McLamore, co-founder of the BURGER KING® brand, integrity, high standards, an entrepreneurial spirit, good citizenship, and education were essential principles. These ideals were instrumental in making a dream come true, and they also form the foundation of the BURGER KING® Foundation, which will carry on his legacy and dedication to education.
Scholarship America® is in charge of running this scholarship program. No consideration is given to factors such as national origin, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, race, color, creed, or religion when awarding awards.
