The man accused of killing his wife was prosecuted in Jigawa court
The Jigawa State Police said it has prosecuted a 50-year-old man for allegedly killing his four-year-old goat in Roni local government in the state.
The spokesperson of the state police force, DSP Lawan Shiisu, said this on Friday in Dutse, the state capital.
The police said they arrested the man on August 8 in Unguwar Dinya village after receiving a report of the incident.
DSP Shiisu said "on the 8th of August at about 9:00 p.m. there was a bad news from Unguwar Dinya in Roni local government of Jigawa State that on that day at about 7:42 p.m. a certain Salmanu Umar was seen 4-year-old in the village lying in a pool of blood, his neck was cut."
He said that after the arrival of the police, they rushed to the Kazaure General Hospital to give him emergency care.
The spokesman said that investigation led to the arrest of the husband of the child's mother who is the suspect.
Shiisuu added that the man confessed to the crime, when the police charged him with the crime.
He said that he decided to kill the boy because he could not feed him, as he was not his son.
