The new Minister of the Federal City of Abuja in Nigeria, Nyesom Wike has vowed to restore the reputation of the city, by demolishing illegal houses and ensuring that no illegal constructions are continued.

While addressing senior officials of the ministry in Abuja shortly after he was sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Wike said the main things he will focus on are the security of the city and its development. in order to compete with his peers in the world.

The minister also emphasized his intention to demolish any building that violates the city's plan, regardless of who owns it.

Wike said that he will not tolerate the way some anointed and oiled people are building illegally, while the government has put the responsibility of managing the city in his hands, therefore he will launch a plan to demolish all the buildings that have been built there. should not have been given to those who were made illegally.

The minister also warned those who were given land but refused to build on it, saying that he will use his office to confiscate such land to give it to those who need it.

Wike said that under his leadership, whoever will be given land in Abuja, he must declare when he will build it to serve as evidence of taking action against him if he breaks his promise.
