 The Taco Bell Foundation gives out $10 million in LIVE MS scholarships to educate, inspire, and connect future leaders.

In a year with a record number of applications and awards, the Taco Bell Foundation is removing hurdles to education for young people who want to follow their dreams.

IRVINE, Calif. (PRNewswire) April 26, 2023 -- The Taco Bell Foundation said today that it will give out more than $10 million in Live Más Scholarships. This is the most money the charity has ever given out. The scholarships will be given to 980 students between the ages of 16 and 26 who want to make a big difference in their neighborhood and beyond. This year, the Taco Bell Foundation is giving $2.5 million to people who work at Taco Bell restaurants and $7.6 million to people all over the country who like Taco Bell. Prizes range from $5,000 to $25,000 per winner.

The Live Más Scholarship is a passion-based scholarship that provides students with the resources and tools they need to go after their dreams in education with courage. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must submit a two-minute video in which they talk about their passion, a good change they want to make in the world, and how their education will help them reach that goal.

This year, nearly 14,000 scholarship applications were sent to the Taco Bell Foundation, which is the most ever. More than 300 brand fans, 150 people who work at Taco Bell restaurants, and more than 500 people who got their scholarships renewed through the Taco Bell Foundation's renewal application. Applicants can repeat their scholarships up to three times.

Customers who donate to the Taco Bell Foundation's Round Up fundraiser by rounding up to the nearest dollar pay for all of the scholarships given to Taco Bell fans. This shows that small changes can make a big difference in people's lives. While scholarships for team members are paid for entirely by gifts from Taco Bell Corp. and Taco Bell Franchisees.

"The Live Más Scholarship is more than just a cheque. The Executive Director of the Taco Bell Foundation, Jennifer Bradbury, said, "It gives these young scholars a place to learn from each other and grow outside of the classroom." King A.: King is a passionate artist who is currently a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) studying Art and Business Marketing. He is the son of immigrants from Togo, and one day he wants to open his own animation and art company to help first-generation American animators like himself do well in the business. King works at Taco Bell and found out about his scholarship at a surprise party at the Taco Bell where he works and where his dad is the Restaurant General Manager.

Stacy E. says: Stacy was born deaf into a family that spoke Spanish, so she quickly learned about the problems that come with language hurdles. Stacy learned American Sign Language over time and with the help of the right tools. She also fell in love with Deaf Education. Stacy is currently working on her Associate of Arts degree. She plans to continue her education at Stephen F. Austin State University to get a degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Studies. Stacy hopes that with this education, she will be able to help deaf and hard-of-hearing kids in the classroom and make a change in their lives and education.

This July, Live Más Scholars will be able to attend the Live Más Scholarship Summer of Connection in San Diego, California. The in-person conference is meant to help people learn the skills and make the connections they need to pursue their jobs with confidence and make a difference in their communities.
