The military chiefs of West African countries meeting in Accra, Ghana said that ECOWAS will restore civilian rule in the Republic of Niger by any means.

While speaking at the opening of the officers' meeting, which is the second time they are holding a study on the appropriate measures to be taken in the use of force against the soldiers who staged a coup in Niger, the Commissioner for Security and Peace, Abdul Fatau Musah said that what is in front of them is to restore civil rule in the country.

The leaders of the ECOWAS group have instructed the military chiefs of their countries to study and advise on the appropriate measures to be taken if there is a need to use military force, as a result of the resistance of the soldiers who made the coup.

This position of planning to use force continues to face opposition from other countries and public groups, including the United States and Russia, who need to continue to take diplomatic measures to solve the problem.

According to reports, the meeting of the African Union of African Nations (AU) on the coup in Niger did not reach a consensus as a result of the divisions between the countries that participated in the meeting.

Ali Lamine Zeine, the Prime Minister appointed by Niger's army, said that they have already started planning to restore power in the country, while many sources say that the army has expressed the need for talks with the ECOWAS group.
