President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a presidential committee on reforming the Animal Husbandry Sector in Nigeria.

The committee is also tasked with finding ways to resolve conflicts between farmers and herdsmen across Nigeria for a long time.

This follows the submission of the report of the national meeting on changes in animal husbandry and the resolution of conflicts in Nigeria to the president on Thursday.

The national chairman of the APC and the former governor of Kano, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje led the meeting, where he reminded that when he was the governor, he hosted the national meeting to ensure good relations between farmers and herdsmen.

The President then asked the committee to collaborate with the federal ministry of agriculture and food supply, in order to find solutions to the conflicts.
