A gunman nicknamed Sabon Kari has been arrested for allegedly killing a police officer in Katsina state
We have succeeded in arresting a gunman named Sa'idu Yaro, also known as Sabon Jini, 30 years old, who is suspected to be involved in the killing of ACP Aminu Umar, the Dutsinma Police Commander of Katsina State.
On the 5th of July, gunmen ambushed the late ACP Umar and killed him, when he was leading a patrol team in the usual operation to eliminate terrorists in the area.
The police force on patrol was defeated in the hands of the bandits in a fierce gun battle which eventually resulted in the death of another officer.
The police spokesperson in Katsina, ASP Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq, told newsmen that the suspect, Sa'idu Yaro, popularly known as Sabon Jini, was arrested on August 30.
