Seats will be reserved for women in the Indian Parliament
The Government of India has submitted a bill to the National Assembl
y to reserve some seats in the Parliament for women.
The law, which was introduced 27 years ago, was approved in a special session on Monday.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi described the resolution as a wish that has yet to be fulfilled.
He also said that only discussing the development of women is not enough.
The issue of reserving seats for women is one of the promises made by the BJP in the elections of 2014 and 2019.
