The federal government has launched a committee of 15 people to organize the celebration of Nigeria's 63 years of independence.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who launched the committee on Thursday in Abuja, also launched the planned activities to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of independence.

Akume, who is the chairman of the committee, said that the activities planned for the ceremony will be held after the committee has concluded.

He said it was established to plan and implement all the agreed activities that are relevant to the celebration of Nigeria's 63 years of independence on October 1, 2023.
