The court will decide on the Zamfara governorship election case
Today, the court hearing the Zamfara state governorship election case is expected to decide in a session it will hold in Sokoto.
The former governor of the state, Bello Matawalle has challenged the victory of Dauda Lawal as the winner of the governorship election in the 2023 election.
The Nigerian Electoral Commission, INEC announced Dauda Lawal of PDP as the winner of the election held in March this year.
According to Inec Dauda Lawal got 377,726 votes beating Bello Matawalle who got 311,976 votes.
There are 14 local governments in Zamfara state out of which Dauda Lawal won in 10 local governments, while Matawalle of APC won the election in four local governments.
However, after the formation of the government, the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, appointed Bello Matawalle as the country's junior defense minister.
