 A bomb exploded in Maiduguri

Reports from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state in northeastern Nigeria, say that a bomb went off and killed one person.

An official of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Bashir Garga, confirmed the incident to the BBC.

He said that the bomb went off at around 10 o'clock this Thursday morning.

It has been a long time since there has been a bombing in the city of Maiduguri, which has become famous for facing Boko Haram attacks in recent years.
