 Speaker of the 8th Nigerian House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na'Abba, has died

The families and relatives of the Speaker of the 8th House of Representatives of Nigeria, Ghali Umar Na'Abba have confirmed the death of the eminent politician in the early hours of Wednesday morning after suffering from a short illness.

Nigerian newspapers have stated that Na'Abba, 65 years old, died at his home in Abuja, the capital of the country, and his funeral will be held any time today, Wednesday, according to the provisions of Islam.

The eminent politician who led the 8th House of Representatives of Nigeria from 1999 to 2003 is one of the elders of the North who have experience in the field of governance and politics.

Ghali Umar Na'Abba was born on the 27th of September 1958 in Tudun Wada town in Kano state where he studied Primary in Jakara and Secondary in Rumfa College before going to Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.
