ECOWAS will ask them to intervene on the issue of Mali, Niger and Burkina

The Economic Development Organization of African countries ECOWAS said it will seek mediators to overcome the situation of three important countries in the group including Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, who have shown their desire to leave the group.

The commissioner for political affairs of the organization and security and peace, Ambassador Abdel-Fatau Musah said this during a press conference held at the headquarters of the organization in Abuja.

He pointed out that all the sanctions imposed on the three countries have been removed, and now some strategies are being implemented that will show them the importance they have in ECOWAS.

"Discussions have been going on for a long time, not only ECOWAS but also other mediators, and this is being done so that we all know that we need each other.

"We are waiting for these countries that I often repeat are very important as members of ECOWAS. And if they are not there there are some challenges that if they are not there we will not be able to see them in the region.

"Like the problem of terrorism that is happening in the region, and our main goal is how to end the problem, and how to keep immigration between our countries without worry," he said. Moses.

He was explaining about the decision of the three countries to establish a security team to fight jihadists, he said that it is a good thing and whether ECOWAS would like to help in this.
