 Sudan has set conditions before agreeing to join the AU

The Sudanese military government has set conditions before agreeing to intervene in an effort to end the war in the country for almost a year, conditions that include returning it to the African Union as a member.

In a statement issued by the military government of Sudan, it reported President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan as saying that it is necessary to return the country to the AU before it accepts the intervention that the group is trying to do to end the war.

Al-Burhan stated that there is no doubt that the AU will be effective in solving the country's crisis, but this will not be possible until the country is returned to the organization as a member.

Last Sunday, a special committee established by the AU since last January announced a plan to intervene to end the war in Sudan which has so far killed millions of civilians and caused the loss of many lives.

Since April last year, war broke out in Sudan after the conflict between the army and the emergency response forces of the RSF under the leadership of Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
