Nollywood is still leading in the movie industry with an average of 2000 films annually.  The streaming platform has also enabled Nollywood enthusiasts to watch magnificent stories, well-done performances, and magnificent images at the safety of the living room through platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Showmax, and YouTube.

 So here are some of the gems on YouTube to keep you entertained if you are a fan of watching good tales and Nollywood.  There is a possibility that everyone can find something he or she enjoys, starting with dramatic to funny comedies.  Regardless of whether you want to supper unwind at the end of the working week or spend your weekend binging on Nollywood films, the ten movies discussed below are definitely worth your time.  Take your popcorn and prepare- here lie some of the best movies to watch before the end of this week.

 1. A forever with numbered days

 Other characters in this movie include Deyemi Okanlawon and Teniola Aladese and is directed by Bolaji Ogunmola under the title Bami.

 The numbered days Bami spends in a lifetime awaits her when she suddenly appears after all these years she was thought to be dead only to find that her man was going to marry her best friend.  The film looks at grief, time, and the permanence of love in a very emotional manner.  The latter part will compel you to make a judgment and even choose a side because questions are to be asked.

 The drama, starring Afeez Oyetoro, Charles Awurum, Francis Odega and Victor Osuagwu who are well-known comic actors, is a drama that is comedy-based and features an imaginary Nigerian police station.  It involves focussing on the daily antics, political doings, a weird case investigated by eccentric policemen.  Area Command is a great read if one is fond of seeing light-hearted anarchy with a Nigerian twist.

 A comedy show that premieres every Sunday at 5 in the afternoon on LiamStudio TV, and currently in season 1 episode 15.

3. Something sweet

 A short film, Something Sweet is directed by Tshauwanna Moon, and features actress Michelle Dede as the confident and aggressive woman named Ziora in her forties, who becomes infatuated with the lovelier younger man named Leke portrayed by Ogranya, a singer and actress.  The movie directed by Dika Ofoma on behalf of Zikoko Life explores the sentimental nature of age, romance and social expectations of love. 

 The film is a celebration that women gain their love agency and shows that romance is not always an alliterated story, at times, it is just something sweet.

4. What's left of us

 What is Left of Us is a marriage and legacy comedy, emotional-concession drama with highly consequential acting of Zainab Balogun as Mariam, and Uzor Arukwe as Aliyu.  The fact that Mariam does not want to have any more children goes contrary to the emerging urge by her husband making the disagreement quite personal.

5. The 4th Generation

 The 4th Generation is a television drama that shows the story of women passing down tradition, trauma, and strength through several generations. The show stars Toyin Abraham, Bimbo Akintola, Lanre Hassan among others.  The movie shows the acculturation and spiritual connections that make generations of Nigerian families united.

 The Islamic themed movie presents the life story of Toyin Abraham, a daughter of the third generation, who was overcoming the family curse, which she did not want to pass on to her child.  Did she succeed?  There is only one thing to do to find out.

6. Made to Measure

 In Made to Measure, Bolaji Ogunmola portrays an unhappy professional, who has been overlooked after promotion she feels she has well earned.  She and co-stars Michael Dappa and Blessing Onukwe encounter unexpected drama at the office thus making her question her ambitions.

 The movie is humorous and beautifully narrated that depicts the rather too recognizable issues of corporate existence, ambition and politics that goes with it.  It is an enjoyable and easy to associate with story as it is a journey of job expectations.

7. Lowkey Adults

 The series also began with a conception by Fatimah Binta Gimsay and was co-directed by Susan Pwajok.  The movie features Susan Ganchung Pwajok who plays Jaiyeola Funtua and Shamz Garuba as Hamza Bello.  The Gen Z series is about friendship, love and growing up, as five young adults figure out their lives in a world of complicated love triangles, the uncertainty of growing up and the challenges of leaving the nest behind.

 It is witty, realistic and extremely relateable touching on personal growth, peer pressure issues, and identity.  It gives a special insight into the unseen struggles of young Nigerians who are trying to establish adulthood in their way.

8. The Unbelievable Boyfriend

 This horror-comedy follows Anna (Sophie Alexander) who seems to have finally met the right man but then the question arises when someone seems a bit too perfect.  It starts as a beautiful love story and as the plot progresses, it transitions to a comedy of suspicions and an expiration of an extraordinary spouse.

 The image is a combination of romance and comedy in an entertaining and smart manner.  It is humorous as it directs the pause on relationships and how hard it is to seek the perfect man.  It is simply loaded with sarcasm and twists of a high order and at the same time includes simple key learning points on the value of love and self knowledge.

 9. Lara Unlimited.

 This spinoff to The Smart Money Woman features Lara Thompson, an oil executive played by Arese Ugwu, who is trying to find balance between job ambition and her own reinvention.  The series gives the viewer an insider look at corporate life in Lagos through the perspective of a determined career-oriented and stylish woman.

 Not in the boardrooms and fashion magazines only, Lara Unlimited is about imposter syndrome, female empowerment, and the sense of fulfilment.  It is scandalous, readily identifiable, and definitely fun.

10. Till the dust settles

 Till the dust settles is an intense work based on a love story, class, and betrayal.  Thanks to their brilliance, independence, and rebelliousness, Ejiro, a smart and street girl, and Ebuka, an affluent and refined banker, are introduced to each other and their lives are never the same again.

 Despite their intense romance, things quickly grow ugly because it is now a battle to find respect and acceptance, as Ejiro is exposed to the family of Ebuka which disapprove of their relationship and uncovered various secrets almost tearing it all apart.

 Love, suspense, family drama blend together in the film that paints the story of a woman who tries to protect her heart, identity, and truth in the environment, which tries to close its doors to her.
