Today, Dolly Parton is giving a report on her health, one day after her sister asked the superstar's fans to pray for her.
Parton said in an Instagram video shared Wednesday, "I know lately everyone thinks I'm sicker than I am." She also wrote, "I ain't dead yet!"
"Do I look sick to you?" She said in the video. "I'm working hard here!"
Parton said, "I want to put everyone's mind at ease, those of you that seem to be really worried." She said she was making the video on Oct. 8 between commercials. She told her friends that she is "OK," but that she is dealing with "some problems" and getting "a few treatments." After her husband Carl Dean died earlier this year, the singer said she "didn't take care of myself" and "let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of." The doctor told her, "We need to take care of this, we need to take care of that," when she finally did it. "Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home." She then said, "I wanted you to know that I'm not dying!" "I'm not ready to die yet," she said. There's still work to be done, and I don't think God is done with me.
The 79-year-old's words come after Freida Parton asked other people to be "prayer warriors" for her sister.
Parton wrote on Oct. 7 that she prayed all night for her sister Dolly. "A lot of you know she hasn't been feeling well lately. Many thanks for your message. I really think that prayer can change things. I want everyone who loves her to join me in prayer.

There was a time when Dolly Parton talked about her health problems in a social media post on September 28 that said her Las Vegas shows would not happen.
"As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures," she added. "I won't be able to practise and put together the show I want you to see and that you deserve to see." I want to give you my best because you pay a lot of money to see me act. "Work on all of my projects from here in Nashville," Parton said, even though she is sick. "I just need a little time to get show ready."
