Omisore beats Osun fan with broom while declaring governorship bid (Video)

When Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was seen striking a supporter with a broom during his formal announcement for governor of Osun State, it caused a stir.

On Tuesday, October 7, 2205, Omisore announced his intention to run for governor at the APC state secretariat located on Osogbo/Gbongan Road in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

The APC leader struck a supporter with a broom, the party's emblem, as he spoke to the assembly of party faithful who had gathered to hear his declaration that he would run in the next Osun governorship race. Online responses to the incident's video clip have been conflicting. While some Nigerians have criticised the outburst as an inappropriate display of temperament for someone running for public office, others have ridiculed it as "symbolic discipline with the party emblem."
