Nigerian Afro singer Seyi Shay has disclosed how her career has evolved over the years due to her colleague Ayo Balogun, better known by his stage as Wizkid, and his inventiveness.
The female artist discussed her tight collaboration with Wizkid in a recent appearance on "The Honest Bunch Podcast."
The "Irawo" crooner, who gave backing vocals for several of his other recordings, recalled the camaraderie and mentorship that grew throughout their early collaborations, mentioning several instances, such as her song "Crazy."
Outside of music, Seyi Shay disclosed that Wizkid frequently gave her insightful counsel about negotiating the entertainment business.
"I did Crazy with Wizkid," she remarked. He included me on one of his tracks, and I featured him on the other. At the time, I also provided backing vocals for a few of his other tracks. We developed a true friendship. I came to see how intelligent and gifted he truly is. I was infuriated when I witnessed him record while eating. I have no idea where he finds inspiration. I find persons with such talent really attractive, and he is like a magician. Everything about me, including my spirit and soul, speaks to those with extraordinary talent. He used to give me a lot of advice and explain how people act in this field.
