Gawuna Prays for Abba Gida Gida in Kano
The deputy governor of Kano and candidate of the APC party in the governorship election of the state, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna prayed for the elected governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf for success in his administration and wished for himself and the supporters of the APC party to take their destiny. .
Gawuna stated this in a recorded voice message, which his media assistant, Hassan Musa Fagge, sent to Focus News Hausa, BBC.
The move comes shortly after the Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) gave Abba Gida-Gida the certificate of winning the governorship election on Wednesday.
In the message, Nasir Gawuna said "he (Abba) whom God has given, God has made him a good leader, fair to everyone."
He added that "God made us to be obedient to the leadership and follow the law."
Gguna called on his supporters to be more patient and pray for the loss of the party in the 2023 governorship election.
On May 20, INEC announced Abba Kabir Yusuf as the winner of the Kano state governorship election after the election held on May 18.
The Chief Collector of Kano governorship election results Professor Ahmad Doko Ibrahim said Abba Kabir got 1,019,602 votes, while Nasiru Gawuna got 890,705 votes.
However, the APC party said it did not accept the results, and demanded that INEC review the election.
