Tinubu will get bad press if he keeps Akpabio and Tajudeen as Speakers.

The President-elect, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the governors of the APC party have finished their search for leaders of the 10th National Assembly, which will start in a few days. This news came out on Friday.

LEADERSHIP newspaper found out that Tinubu and the governors have finally chosen Senator Godswill Akpabio (South-South Zone), the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, to be the new President of the Senate. He will be sworn in soon.

They also chose Senator Barau Jubrin, who is from the North West Zone and serves the Kano North Constituency, as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Senate.

Sources told this newspaper that Tinubu also chose Tajudden Abbass as Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives. Abbass is a member of parliament from Kaduna State who represents the Zaria Constituency in the North West Zone.

Then, Benjamin Kalu, who serves the Bende Constituency in Abia State, became the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In a meeting held yesterday in Abuja by 8 leaders of the APC party, the process of giving out seats in the 10th parliament came to a head.

Bola Tinubu led the meeting, which was also attended by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the leader of the APC; Senator Iyiola Omisore, the APC National Secretary; Senator Abubakar Kyari, the vice chairman of the APC for the northern zone; and Chief Emma Eneukwu, the vice chairman of the APC for the southern zone.

Har-lau, the former President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, were all at the meeting.

The Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, was also meant to be at the meeting, but he didn't make it.

A close member of Tinubu's campaign team told our reporter that the meeting happened yesterday at Tinubu's house in Abuja.

Tinubu put together a nine-person group last week to figure out how to divide the leadership of the National Assembly into zones.

Powerful people at the meeting told this newspaper that Senator Akpabio's election was met with heated debates and resistance and that Senator Ahmed Lawan said he didn't agree with the person who was chosen and that he would take his place.

Last week, Lawan led a group of senators to Tinubu to try to vote for Akpabio. They said that the former governor of Akwa Ibom state is not fit to sit in this seat.

They were worried about how the north-central zone was being left out of the parliament by the way posts were being given out.

They also informed the session that in the last election, the north-central zone voted heavily for the APC.

Our sources said, "Senator Ahmad Lawan, the outgoing President of the Senate, spoke out against the choice of Akpabio as his replacement, but Tinubu forced him to keep quiet, so he had no other choice." He pulled his mouth back and chewed."

Yesterday, the media team for Tajudden Abbas sent out a news release showing that Tinubu's choice for Speaker of the House was a good one.

They said Abbas will try to bring people together, improve leadership, and work with the executive arm. They have shown that Abbas is suitable for this job based on his knowledge and experience in the parliament and with writing laws.

Also, there are signs that, despite Tinubu's choice, the people who want to be Speaker of the House of Representatives will still try their luck, even though Tinubu has already given out the positions.

It was found that members of parliament who don't like this system will protest Tinubu and APC and keep trying to get the spot.

LEADERSHIP found out that Idris Wase, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has not agreed to give up his plan to run for the House of Representatives top job.

It was found out that they had called an emergency meeting with their followers to talk about the problem and figure out how to get the conversation going.
