Reports have confirmed that President-elect Bola Tunibu is supporting Akpabio as the Speaker of the House of Elders and Hon Tajudden Abbas from Kaduna State, as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Amintacciya newspaper reported that this decision was reached yesterday during a meeting held with the president-elect and elected members of parliament and the chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who is the head of the National Works Council (NWC).  in Abuja.

The meeting was held for over an hour which included the outgoing President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, his deputy Ovie Omo Agege and the outgoing Speaker of the House.

 Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Among those who attended the meeting were the APC secretary, Sen Iyiola Omisore;  and the Deputy Chairman of the party for the Northern Zone Sen Abubakar Kyari and his counterpart in the South Chief Emma Eneukwu.

A member of the NWC committee who asked to remain anonymous confirmed the incident to the Guardian newspaper saying that "Tinubu has already decided on the matter, a long time ago, where he supported Akpabio as the Speaker of the House of Elders and Hon Tajudden Abbas  Representing Zaria in Kaduna State as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to the member of the committee, it would be good if he changed his mind before the inauguration of the National Assembly next month.

"When contacted, the APC national media secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, did not confirm or deny Tinibu's endorsement of Tajudden Abass and Akpabio.

Akpabio is among those who contested for the presidency, and he was the first to withdraw the president-elect in the presidential primaries held last year.
