MDD evacuated hundreds of workers from Sudan

The United Nations has evacuated hundreds of its staff and their families from Khartoum and other parts of Sudan, according to a spokesman for the UN Secretary General.

Antonio Guterres has been repeating the calls for a ceasefire to allow civilians to leave the areas affected by the conflict.

The spokesperson of the Secretary General added that the United Nations will continue to work with its staff inside and outside Sudan and confirmed that the head of diplomatic affairs Volker Perthes is still in the country of Sudan.
